New Market in Columbus Seeks Farmer/Producers

On the north lawn

On the north lawnWhile Saturday markets are common in Columbus, you don't have many on Sunday afternoon. The Ravens' Farmers Markets seeks to fill that need on the East side in a park-like setting that should be very popular.

The Ravens’ Farmers Market
(1 Kings 17:6)

Who We Are:

We represent a collaborative effort of a number of neighborhoods on the East side of Columbus, which are starting a farmer's market beginning with the summer of 2013.  The Ravens’ Market will be held in Berwick neighborhood of Columbus (located just south of Bexley). The neighborhoods in our collaboration have expressed a great interest and excitement about the market being held in our community.  The Ravens’ Farmers Market will be on the north lawn of Redeemer Lutheran Church with high visibility on a major thoroughfare, easy access just a half mile north of the James Rd. exit on I-70, and a large parking lot.

When and Why:

The Ravens’ Farmers Market will be held from June through October on Sunday afternoons from 1:00-4:00pm. We think it is important to allow time for families to worship and then come to the market together. We want to provide a place where neighbors can gather to foster an atmosphere of community around healthy wholesome food. For our first year of operation, we have received funding from the community to offer the stalls to farmers for no charge.  All participants in this market will be the primary producer of the products they are selling. We are looking for farmers who can proudly talk to customers - first hand - about the items they are selling. We have a multi-level, comprehensive marketing plan (print/electronic/church & civic association communication) to advertise to an already energized community.
